Took 9th at nationals and we started as 36th of 48 teams.

After a slightly disappointing second place finish on Day 1, SJSU came out at 8am to take on Sacramento State in the all important challenge round match.  The Spartans woke up ready to play as they took game 1, 25-15,  paced by Danny Chan's 4 kills and .482 hitting percentage. Game 2 started out slow as Sac St. scored the first 4 points, but Barry Ivers had 6 of the teams 11 kills and assisted on 3 of the teams 10 blocks as SJSU went on to win game 2 25-16.

Having qualified for the championship pool, SJSU started off strong beating Texas A & M in 3 games, 25-18, 23-15, 15-12. The roll continued in game 1 of their second match against Penn State 26-24. Unfortunately fatigue and a lack of execution plagued the Spartans as Penn State came back to win the match in 3. This placed all three teams in a tie and only two teams could advance to the gold bracket. Seeding forced an immediate rematch with Penn State in a 1 game play off for second place. The Spa! rtans f ound their legs while surrounded by a Penn State partisan crowd and ran off a quick 25-14 victory behind Jason Medenceles' solid defense and Barry Ivers 7 kills. With 2nd place in hand SJSU seeked to break the tie with Texas A&M. Playing after 2 matches that Texas A&M rested, the rust showed as the Spartans ran past the Aggies with an improbable .565 hitting percentage,  25-15.  With that, SJSU, won the pool and claimed the 4 seed. The Spartans are in the Gold Bracket for Men's division 1 for the first time in it's history and continue in their quest for a national title tomorrow morning at 1030 local time against Colorado University in the round of 16.

Days may come and days may go
How I think a feel for you never will
You are beautiful and smart
One of the most awesome people I have ever met
I think of you as my own
I will never let you go or ever fall
Let me be your support and your guide
My hand is here, held out for you
It will always be a grasp away when you need it or me
Together we can fly to the stars
You can choose the one we visit first
It will be the greatest time in my life
Because you are there with me to share
To share the moment and beauty of the stars
But you are the brightest one of all, outshining the rest
Shining so bright the stars dull when compared
We can stay as long as you wish|
I am in no hurry to leave
Having you by my side is like being in heaven
You are an angel from soul to heart
Days may come and days may go
